In a game of English pool, a jump shot is a foul in all official rule sets. So while in American Pool you can get the Jump cue out when you are in a tricky situation, British players have to use a cushion or swerve shot to escape from snookers.

That means that a jump shot with the small ball game really is a trick-shot. Most British players don't know how to play a jump shot correctly, so here is the demonstration and the explanation.
