Classic Jump Shot

In a game of English pool, a jump shot is a foul in all official rule sets. So while in American Pool you can get the Jump cue out when you are in a tricky situation, British players have to use a cushion or swerve shot to escape from snookers.

That means that a jump shot with the small ball game really is a trick-shot. Most British players don’t know how to play a jump shot correctly, so here is the demonstration and the explanation.

Third Dimension

This is the sort of shot that might be played in a pool exhibition.  The idea is to get the cue ball to jump over the cue, and then spin back under the cue to pot (pocket!) the second red.

Jack in the Box

This is a really flamboyant trickshot. The set up is quite difficult as the red ball is supported by the yellow balls on the bed of the table. Get the pace right and the red jumps up in the air and into the pocket!
