World 8 Ball Pool Championships Coaching Seminar – Introduction to Spin

A section of one of the seminars I held at theWorld 8 Ball Pool Championships at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool.

In this segment I talk about spin on the cue ball – how it gets there and what it does.  To get the cue ball to react in the way you want it to, it is not simply a question of hitting the cue ball in a specific way, there are lots of other factors involved.  Here I concentrate on the distance between the balls and how that affects the reaction of the cue ball after contact with an object ball.

University Pool Lectures – Stance

In February 2011, I was invited to attend the Universities Pool Council Finals in Great Yarmouth at Vauxhall Holiday Park.   For a couple of hours I gave a talk on some of the fundamentals of the game, and the importance of getting the basics right so you don’t run into problems later on.

We had a camera running, and in the coming months will be posting snippets here on stevedaking.com.   In this section I am talking about the correct stance, and how to establish which eye is dominant.
